Halo Pershing Integration

Pershing is a financial services platform that provides clearing, custody, and technology infrastructure for broker-dealers and wealth managers. I led the design of the integration between Pershing and Halo, bringing Halo's structured notes platform directly into Pershing's environment. This was the first large-scale application of Halo's new Spartan Design System, enabling advisors to browse, purchase, and manage structured notes seamlessly without leaving Pershing's platform.

Problem

Advisors using Pershing's platform had no direct way to access Halo's structured notes marketplace. To evaluate and purchase products, they had to leave Pershing, manage separate logins, and navigate redundant funding and account processes. This created friction, slowed transactions, and reduced adoption of Halo's offerings within Pershing's large advisor network.

Goals

The goal was to incorporate Halo's structured notes workflows directly into Pershing's advisor environment while ensuring the experience still looked and felt like Halo. The integration needed to showcase Halo's brand identity, leverage our new React Material component library, and at the same time feel seamless inside Pershing's platform. Longer term, the project was designed as a repeatable framework Halo could resell to other financial institutions.

My Contributions

I led UX design for the end-to-end integration, collaborating closely with product, engineering, and compliance teams across both organizations. This project was the first time Halo applied the Spartan Design System I had built, using React Material components to ensure consistency and accelerate engineering implementation. I mapped advisor workflows and adapted Halo's marketplace experience so it felt seamless inside Pershing's platform while still maintaining Halo's unique product value. Throughout the process, I worked hand-in-hand with compliance teams to satisfy regulatory requirements and structured the integration as a framework that Halo could repurpose and sell to other enterprise clients.

Impact

The integration launched in February 2023, onboarding over 500 Pershing advisors in the first month and driving $50M+ in monthly transactions. The success validated the Spartan Design System, strengthened Halo's partnership with Pershing, and enabled Halo to begin selling the same integration model to other financial institutions as a growth strategy.
